I’m a freelance Production Designer, Art Director, Design Producer and all-round ‘creative type’ with a variety of strings to my ever-expanding bow! I enjoy the entire creative process, from the initial scribble on a page to the collaboration with the creative team right through to the challenge of producing and delivering the final vision in a well-managed, organised and effective way.
I started working in TV Production in 2005 after graduating from Falmouth College of Arts with a BA Hons degree in Spatial Design. I worked my way up to Assistant Producer level before taking a sidestep into more design-focused roles such as Makeover Producer on ITV’s Peter Andre’s 60 Minute Makeover and Design Producer on The Great Interior Design Challenge, BBC. This change in direction led me to develop my skills in a variety of creative roles including Production Designer, Art Director, Prop Buyer and Set Dresser, in TV, Film, Commercials and Events.
In the last few years working as a Production Designer, I have designed multifunctional Roadshow sets, props and Live show elements for The Martin Lewis Money Show, ITV. As Art Director, I have worked on location-based sets for charity commercials through to Studio sets for Online video content. More recently, I revisited the role of Design Producer on The Big Flower Fight, Netflix. I managed the design team on location responsible for all elements of the sculptural design and build process. It was a unique and creative experience; one day, I would be planning crane movement logistics and the next hands-on designing and fashioning a floral gown.
I am a practical and adaptable designer, confident either managing or being part of a design team. I am my happiest creating and being surrounded by creative people and feel very lucky that I can call what I do and love my work.
